Xi’an, China – October 16th, 2024 – Focuslight Technologies Inc. (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 688167), a global provider of high-power diode lasers and materials, laser optics and photonics modules and system solutions, today announced the appointment of Sinclair Vass as Corporate Senior Vice President of International Sales and Business Development.

As Senior Vice President of International Sales, Sinclair Vass will be responsible for formulating and executing sales strategies across markets outside of China, with a focus on increasing market share and achieving sales targets. His role includes cultivating cooperations with key customers in emerging markets and driving sustainable business growth.

As Senior Vice President of Business Development, Sinclair Vass will manage Focuslight’s partnerships with external stakeholders, ensuring the successful implementation of the company strategy, ongoing business operations, as well as key organic and inorganic growth opportunities. Working closely with the CEO and the executive team, he will ensure that the company’s business development initiatives are aligned with its overall strategic objectives.

Sinclair Vass graduated in Physics from the University of Edinburgh (Scotland) and has held leadership roles in several major optical telecommunications companies including Hewlett Packard, Lucent, and JDSU. He later took responsibility for sales and product management for Viavi Solutions, where he significantly grew sales of their optical filters and security products. After Viavi, he joined Focuslight for the first time in 2019, where he successfully restructured and led the Laser Optics business unit, which now mass-produces leading edge micro and nano optics at factories in Germany, Switzerland and China. In 2021, Sinclair Vass transitioned to a new role at Velodyne Lidar as their Chief Commercial Officer, where he served as joint interim CEO and played a key role in their merger with Ouster.
